Our Story

About Working Out.png

All through my life I researched my Native and African ancestral heritage, trying to piece the puzzle of my past and I found a passion for ancient medicines and healing arts.

On this journey, I saw many similarities in the root mindful practices from indigenous meditations, dance, breathing exercises, and pain tolerance methods, all of which help to put you in the “zone”—the state where you find stillness of mind.

For many years, I've heard athletes yelling, “I’m in the zone," and it made me realize that the zone was a motion or when you are in motion state.

I've seen this “flow state” throughout my life and history. I have played chess and video games and found my zone. I have played sports and found my zone. And, being a long distance runner, I have found that the “Runner's High” is in my top 5 best feelings your mind and body can have, which could be considered in the zone.

I noticed 5 main mindful practices that are more prominent to find flow state, in the past and present. A playful attitude, rhythmic movement, breathing heavy, enduring the pain, and imagery design. These 5 are core mindful practices that have been being used consciously or subconsciously in human nature and upon which I built the Quest program.
